Carole Hayashino on the Issues

"Carole is a dynamic person skilled in the intricacies of university finance, fund raising and administration. Beyond that she is respected throughout the county for her commitment, her values and her integrity."

— Harry Moore, former Marin County Supervisor, college board trustee, Novato mayor

The College of Marin is coming together and moving forward.

In my first term, I have worked collaboratively with my colleagues on the Marin Community College board to revitalize the College of Marin.

We retained an experienced academic leader to serve as our district's president and superintendent.

With support of over 60% of Marin voters, we celebrated passage of a facilities bond to repair our aging facilities at the Kentfield and Indian Valley campuses.

In bond planning, we adopted green building principles and made a commitment to design and build facilities to be models of energy and water efficiency, while providing healthy environments for students, faculty and staff.

Working with Administrators, faculty, and staff, we reversed the downward trend in student enrollment by creating innovative educational partnerships.

We made significant steps towards addressing the college's accrediting agency's recommendations.

The Marin County Grand Jury noted, the "Administration, faculty, the board, staff and students can take pride in having recently made significant progress…there is renewed focus on facilities modernization, enrollment and accreditation…"

Your support for my candidacy to serve a second term on the College Board will help ensure that the College of Marin continues to improve and move forward to secure its future. I appreciate your vote.
